Aiden Bloom (Zach Braff) is 35 and still reaching for that horizon: The struggling actor continually fantasizes about being the great futuristic Space-Knight he always wanted to be when he was a kid. When his ailing father (Mandy Patinkin) can't look after his 5 and 12-year old children anymore, Aiden reluctantly agrees to homeschool them. What ensues is chaos and life lesson learned the unexpected way...
Zach Braff described Wish I Was Here as a follow-up in tone to his directorial debut Garden State. It's not directly connected to that film though. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2014.
