Watch John Wick Online Putlocker, A secret society that have their own rules and a strict code of conduct, the Continental scenes are cloaked in mystery and intrigue and filled with rich and eccentric characters so the movie really comes to life whenever the action shifts there.

It helps that the majority of the cast really sell it too, with Ian McShane predictably good as the man who runs the hotel, and Willem Dafoe excellent as an expert marksman who previously worked with John.

Unfortunately, Adrianne Palicki fails to make much of an impression as a beautiful assassin who becomes a somewhat forgettable femme fatale, and Alfie Allen’s accent is all over the place as the Russian kid who causes all the trouble in the first place.

Far better is Michael Nyqvist as his father. The Swedish actor made his name as the star of the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo flicks, and here he delivers a hilariously deadpan performance and steals pretty much every scene that he’s in, most notably when he delivers what may well be the greatest ‘Oh’ in movie history.

But this is Keanu Reeves’ movie, and he revels in the role of John Wick, a man of few words but pretty dramatic actions. The character could seem silly if played by another actor – particularly when he’s delivering a speech about that puppy –  but Reeves commits to it so wholeheartedly that you have to take him seriously.

Clearly influenced by the likes of Steve McQueen, Lee Marvin and Liam Neeson, it’s a performance of great purity; one that reflects the simplicity of John Wick’s mission and the economy of both his dialogue and fighting style.

He’s a character you want to spend more time with, living in a mysterious underworld that you want to know more about. So here’s hoping the film is success and spawns a series of sequels about both John Wick and the Continental, as it feels like a story that’s just getting started.
